Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC is Selected to Serve as a DoD Mentor

Arlington, VA October 4, 2011 - Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC (T&H), a leading provider of management and information technology consulting services for Government, announced it has signed agreements with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) to provide developmental assistance to five small, 8(a), HUBSone, and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) as part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protege Program.

The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program seeks to encourage large, established prime contractors (mentors) to develop the technical and business capabilities of small disadvantaged businesses (protégés) in order to enhance their contribution to DoD contract and subcontract requirements. Most DoD mentor companies are large corporations. However, T&H is a small business that was approved as a DoD Mentor in 2007, two years after graduating from the program as a protégé.

"The Mentor-Protégé Program is vital to help emerging small companies achieve measurable results," said Rodney Thomas, Chairman and CEO of T&H. "With assistance from T&H and our unique approach to mentoring as a small business, our protégés will grow more quickly while minimizing risks to their business and clients, add greater value to the mission of Government, and gain a better understanding of the marketplace.

"Ms. Ann Unitas serves as T&H’s Mentor Protégé Program Manager. Ms. Unitas’ experience includes over 20 years of Federal government contracting in technical, business development and program management capacities for the Departments of Defense, State, Justice and Treasury. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge and an enthusiasm for collaboration as a means to creatively maximize the growth of the protégé companies in a quality, process-oriented manner.

Under terms of the agreements, T&H will provide Dependable Global Solutions, Drayton, Drayton, & Lamar, Masai Technologies Corporation, R3 Government Solutions, LLC and TMI Solutions with technology transfer support in Cyber Security/SAP, business development and partnering, training in business and technical areas, infrastructure building, and strategic business planning support over the next 3 years.
