Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC has supported the LMP program since its inception in 1998. We are prototyping AMC process scenarios and generating business strategy white papers to provide solution capabilities of SAP. We are providing Command-specific implementation configuration, coordinating testing of specific implementation configuration, and assisting in various training initiatives to present the solution throughout AMC. T&H is delivering in several key areas of the LMP:

Program/Project/Product Management Support: T&H planned and managed project activities during blueprint, realization, and final preparation phases. T&H contributed to deliverables throughout the program, including prototyping PEO EIS process scenarios, generating business strategy white papers to provide SAP solution capabilities, providing Command-specific implementation configuration, coordinating testing of specific implementation configurations, and assisting various training initiatives to present the solution throughout PEO EIS. Members of the T&H team served as Team Leads (APO Demand Planning) and in SAP R/3 Inventory / Warehouse Management areas.

Enterprise Design, Integration and Consolidation Support: Played a key role in interfacing of mission-critical systems within the logistics community. One critical PEO EIS interface requirement resulted from a process known as Logistical Reassignment. Other interfaces include Commercial Asset Visibility, which allows DoD to track government-owned reparable assets as they flow through a contractor’s repair facilities repair cycle. Another interface is the Conventional Ammunition Integrated Management System, providing global status and visibility of the Navy’s conventional ammunition.

Employed AcceleratedSAP (ASAP) methodology to implement SAP R/3, SAP APO, and SAP BW software suites for LMP. Project Preparation phase consisted of project goal definition, scope clarification, organization establishment, and project schedule definition and program management documentation. Business Blueprint phase included research and analysis plus creation of detailed documents from requirements gathering workshops. These workshops included analyses of current methods, policies, and procedures plus business process analysis. Realization phase included configuration management and system specifications, then completing final preparation (including test coordination, test analysis and documentation, and project team training). Go Live & Support phase moved activities from pre-production to live production operation and includes implementation support (e.g., monitoring of system transactions to optimize system performance).

Integrated Logistics Support: Supported configuration and setup of locations for physical storage of inventory. As Team & Solutions Lead, T&H provided expertise in SAP R/3 Logistics Execution modules. We also provided ERP expert knowledge of Warehouse & Inventory Management modules during rollout of LMP across all commands of the Army Material Command under the leadership of PEO EIS. Our responsibilities evolved into a leadership role throughout all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Support: Helped implement SAP’s Advance Planner and Optimizer (APO) Supply Chain Management suite which is SAP's answer to I2/Manugistics, centered on manufacturing/distribution planning. Implemented APO alongside SAP’s R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite of finance and, logistics and utilizing the capability of SAP’s BW (Business Warehouse)data repository and reporting tool. We researched and analyzed Demand Planning process; created detailed documents, resulting from requirements-gathering workshops (which included analyses of current methods, policies and procedures, and business process analysis).
