Case Studies: State of Maryland Judiciary, Data Migration / Web Development

General Description of Effort
The Maryland Judiciary initiated a modernization plan to migrate existing legacy case management applications coexisting on multiple platforms to a single technology structure. The plan includes converting data from IMS hierarchical data stores to an Oracle relational data store. The migration includes District Court Criminal, Traffic, Civil and the Court of Special Appeals data.

Customer Benefits
To achieve this goal, JIS developed a phased approach that will implement a new technology framework to support future case management processing. JIS requested that T&H conduct an independent assessment of the data migration approach. The T&H Team conducted a thorough assessment of JIS data migration approaches and impacts to organization that provided JIS a better understanding of the complexities associated with the data migration processes and where improvements could be made to effect the data migration and implementation initiative. T&H provided JIS with recommendations regarding their data migration approach and opportunities to improve the overall project. Today, T&H is directly supporting JIS' Chief Architect offering system development and testing professional services.
