Co-Founder, President and CEO Rodney Thomas is a distinguished Veteran of the U.S. Army. Instead of entering college or seeking employment after high school as most high school graduates elected to do, Rodney decided to serve his Country. He enlisted in the U.S. Army with his parents' consent at 17 years of age in 1984. Rodney completed basic and specialized Tanker training in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Rodney graduated from Army training as a combat soldier specializing as an M60A3 Tanker in December of 1984. Rodney was immediately deployed to Katterbach, Federal Republic of Germany as a member of the 1st Battalion, 37th Armor of the 1st Armored Division. Rodney was quickly promoted through the ranks and became a Gunner on his tank and one of the enlisted leaders of the 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Division. During Rodney's tenure in West Germany in 1986, Libyan terrorists planted bombs in several German establishments frequented by U.S. Service members, killing several Americans and wounding others. Our Armed Services responded by tightening security and increasing readiness. Rodney's preparedness as an expert Tank Gunner stood out and he demonstrated an unsurpassed commitment to the unit's Mission to Deter Armed Aggression in Europe. Rodney received the Army Achievement Medal and Honorary Lifetime Membership to the 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Division. Rodney returned to the United States from West Germany in the summer of 1987 and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1990.
